Chocolate Fondue

Chocolate fondue makes for an interesting addition to your party, as it is something different from the conventional dessert and snacks. Fondue refers to a paste in which other foods are dipped. Chocolate is the major ingredient required, and you can choose to have white chocolate, milk chocolate or dark chocolate.

The chocolate can be simmered in a pan over medium heat, resulting in a thick, smooth chocolate fountain that is ready for immediate serving. Alternatively, we provide chocolate fountains where the liquid chocolate, after the chocolate chips are melted in the microwave, is poured into our chocolate fountain machine and then kept warm throughout your party.

A fondue pot or fountain is preferred when it comes to serving chocolate fondue at events, but in its absence you can do with some improvisation. A typical fondue pot consists of a warming dish placed on a metal stand, with a tea light candle placed underneath to keep the fondue warm. However, should the mixture gets cold, the fondue becomes too thick for dipping. A regular bowl can keep the chocolate warm for about 30 minutes or so, and after that you will be required to reheat the chocolate. You can also add other ingredients to make a fondue that does not solidify even with varying temperatures.

The chocolate fondue is just one part; the other part is the bites that will be dipped in the fondue. There is a wide variety to choose from – most people use fruits like pineapples, grapes, raspberries, strawberries, apples, mangoes, dried apricots, bananas and the likes. You can also experiment with butter cakes, cookies, biscuits, marshmallows and even potato chips! Have you ever experienced the tinge of a sweet and salty combination in your mouth? That is what you get, with a fondue-coated potato chip. Sour fruits also give the same tingling sensation that many people love. The goodies should be sliced or cubed into bite-size pieces and served in different bowls. The exact serving portions will depend on your number of guests and mode of sitting. Ideally, the chocolate fondue should be placed in the middle of the table for easy accessibility.

The dipping can be done with forks, skewers or toothpicks. The entire chocolate fountain arrangement, when laid out neatly, can provide an eye-catching chocolate fondue buffet that will have your guests coming back for more. The dipping treats, especially the fruits, can be served in apothecary jars or glassware that allows a display of the inviting array of colours. The cookies, cake and marshmallows can be served on trays.
